Remote Survey

Teledyne Oceanscience Z-Boat

Teledyne Oceanscience Z-Boats offer unmatched value and convenience for hydrographic surveyors conducting shallow water inshore bathymetric surveys. Instead of mobilizing a manned boat or putting people on the water in a hazardous location survey, simply launch the Z-Boat and start surveying immediately. The Z-Boat echosounder and GPS are integrated with a radio modem data transmission system allowing the operator to view the boat track in real time on the shore laptop. Not only can soundings be reviewed as the data is collected, but survey lines can be easily followed with help from the laptop display or an advanced autonomous waypoint navigation module can be added to offer the ultimate in survey effectiveness.

 Z-Boat 1800

If you are looking for a reliable, accurate, and surveyor-tested remote survey system then the Oceanscience Z-Boat 1800 is the only choice. With echosounders selected specifically for use on a remote vessel, the Z-Boat 1800 can be configured to suit every survey challenge and budget. The Tritech StarFish side scan brings crystal clear bottom imagery to the Z-Boat 1800 system.

The Oceanscience Z-Boats are designed with the surveyor in mind. The hull shape, propulsion, radio communication, and sonar instrumentation combine to offer an easy to use and powerful option for the hydrographic surveyor or land surveyor wishing to complete inshore hydrographic work. The Z-Boat offers unmatched convenience for jobs where access to the survey area is poor, or conditions are unsafe.

Z-Boat 1800MX

The Oceanscience Z-Boat 1800MX is a shallow water habitat mapping system using the BioSonics MX singlebeam aquatic habitat echosounder. For shallow water, tidal, or hard-to-access survey areas the Z-Boat 1800MX offers researchers a completely new tool for obtaining valuable habitat data and expanding the coverage of field campaigns. With the long range Oceanscience Hydrolink-N radio system on board, high definition 5Hz echogram and echo oscilloscope data is displayed on the shore laptop in real time, with a simultaneous crystal-clear navigation screen for vessel guidance.

Z-Boat 1800SS

The Oceanscience Z-Boat 1800SS is designed to accommodate the latest Tritech StarFish 990F or 452F side scan sonar systems. With a customized towfish hull mount and high-power radio system to transmit side scan imagery data to the shore, the Z-Boat 1800SS offers a unique remotely-operated bottom imaging system. For search and recovery or hydrographic survey applications, there is no faster method of getting a side scan system in the water and begin looking for targets. The Z-Boat 1800SS can be supplied with side scan only, or add a single beam echosounder such as the Teledyne Odom CV100 to make up a complete hydrographic survey package.

Teledyne Oceanscience Q-Boat

Ready for autonomous control, the Q-Boat is the ultimate survey tool. Q-Boats for ADCP deployment during river velocity profiling and discharge monitoring offer the ultimate in survey flexibility and personnel safety. No busy highway bridge is needed at the survey location, no people need to be out on dangerous flood waters to take the measurement, and no cableway is necessary. Instead of being determined by accessibility, Q-Boat survey locations can be selected to give the best results possible. Configurations for multiple ADCP types are available, and all boats are easily customized for special projects.

Q-Boat 1800P

The Oceanscience Q-Boat 1800P is designed to offer a reliable, high specification remotely-controlled platform for the deployment of popular acoustic Doppler current profilers from any of the major instrument manufacturers. Made of high-impact UV resistant ABS, the Q-Boat 1800P features twin high power outdrives to give a 5 m/s (16 fps) top speed with the security of two engines. The flexible propulsion system allows the Q-Boat 1800P to be equally effective at very low velocities (30 cm/s), providing a total solution to river discharge measurement. Ready for GPS and Oceanscience Hydrolink radio modems, the Q-Boat 1800P is available with an optional extended range remote control system that allows control at over 750m distance.

Q-Boat 1800D

The Oceanscience Q-Boat 1800D is designed to offer a highly reliable, high specification remotely-controlled platform for the deployment of popular acoustic Doppler current profilers from any of the major instrument manufacturers. Made of high-impact UV resistant ABS, the Q-Boat 1800D features a single robust outdrive to give a 2 m/s (7 fps) top speed. The easy to operate Q-Boat 1800D is designed to be cost effective without sacrificing reliability, and sets a new standard in affordable remote control river discharge monitoring.   Ready for GPS and Oceanscience Hydrolink radio modems, the Q-Boat 1800D is available with an optional extended range remote control system that allows control at over 750m distance.

Q-Boat 1550T

The Oceanscience Q-Boat 1550T is specially designed for use with the Teledyne RD Instruments StreamPro ADCP. The use of lightweight and resilient polyethylene hulls and a collapsible folding crossbar allows the boat to be convenient for a single operator. Transportation to and from the deployment site is easy, just fold the outriggers under the main hull and pick up with one hand. Simply unfold the outriggers and place the boat in the water to start your measurement process. As the Q-Boat 1550T does not need any tether line or bridge for deployment, survey sites can be selected based on where the best measurement can be made and not determined by the available bridge access. Instead of setting up a temporary tag line for each measurement, just take the Q-Boat 1550T from site to site!
